Found primarily in Port Stephens, these delicate colonies grow 20-30 cm high in stunning shades of cream to mauve to  pink, creating bushy underwater gardens that provide essential habitat for White's Seahorse and juvenile snapper. Sadly, this remarkable species has suffered a devastating 90% decline in abundance and range between 2011-2021, threatened by extreme weather events, flooding, and human impacts like boat anchoring in their fragile habitat.
